The event was a huge success with the attendance of Cyndi Lauper (who sang a beautiful a cappella rendition of "True Colors") and Elen; NFL Commissioner Mr. Tagliabue and his wife Chandler; Jason Fleetwood-Boldt, Ben Affleck's cousin; Frank Jump; Rosario Dawson's Uncle; Kyan Douglas from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy; Congressman Jerrold Nadler; Mayor Bloomberg; Brian Ellner; Cory Booker; Mark Green; Patrick Murphy; Esera Tuaola; and NFL Hall of Fame Mike Haynes. PFLAG NYC and "Stay Close" received proclamations from the House of Representative, the Senate, and the Mayor (see photos in the gallery). October 10th is now officially "PFLAG Day" in New York City. Mark your calendars! "Stay Close" is excited to have Rosario Dawson and Frank join the campaign. In the next couple months, "Stay Close" will roll out a new media blitz featuring Rosario and Frank. DC billboard truck- 2/14/05
On Valentine's Day, PFLAG DC launched the "Stay Close" campaign in the Capital with a billboard truck driving around the city. The response was tremendous and local TV stations picked up the story for the evening news. Kudos to PFLAG DC!

NYC ad placements
If you missed seeing the "Stay Close" ads around NYC, here's your chance to check them out. The billboard truck was driving around Columbus Circle for the "Portaits in the Park" event back in February. Hopefully you'll be seeing it soon in your neighborhood! (more pics to come)

Stay Close: Portraits in the Park
On February 19th, PFLAG NY held a "Portraits in the Park" event to further promote the "Stay Close" message. PFLAG volunteers approached New Yorkers and tourists alike, who were strolling around Central Park to enjoy the Gates, and asked if they would pose with their favorite "Stay Close" ad in support of the campaign. The response was tremendous as you can see by all the pictures gathered in the gallery. Thank you to all of you who posed in the pics. And please visit our event calendar for the next events in a city near you. Stay Close, because relationships are too precious to lose.
